The Philippine Dragon Boat Federation (PDBF) is the national governing body for dragon boat racing in the Philippines as recognized by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF), the Asian Dragon Boat Federation (ADBF) and the Southeast Asia Traditional Boat Association.
It is the biggest network of dragon boat clubs with 25 club team members all over the Philippines with 1,500 member athletes, including the strongest dragon boat clubs from major military units the Philippine Air Force, the Philippine Army, the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Philippine Navy. It also has the biggest number of IDBF-licensed race officials, coaches, and steersmen in the Philippines.
Our mission is to promote dragon boat racing as a national sport and become the national sports association for dragon boat racing in the Philippines. From grassroots dragon boat clubs in the provinces to the established club teams in Metro Manila, we cater to make dragon boat become the most competitive team sport in the country today.
To be reinstated as the national sports association for dragon boat racing in the Philippines, and to rebuild the Philippine National Dragon Boat Team as the strongest in the world.
To promote dragon boat racing as a national sport by reinforcing and honing established Philippine dragon boat teams, by nurturing grassroots community dragon boat groups in the provinces to become at par with the world's best, and by consolidating all dragon boat teams in the country to be within one strong PDBF organizational umbrella
(1) Solidify the Philippine elite dragon boat team to participate in world championships;
(2) Organize bigger and better national and international races;
(3) Establish grassroots dragon boat organizations in the provinces through dragon boat clinics and local races; and
(4) Provide a more conducive training platform for PDBF member clubs and athletes.
The PDBF has etched world records, won numerous world championships, Asian Championships, the SEA Games, and dominated a multitude of international festivals and races. Click HERE for the full list of achievements of the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation.
